ISLESBORO – John W. “Jack” Leach, 73, died Aug. 8, 2006, at a nursing facility in Rockland. He was born Jan. 31, 1933, in Islesboro, son of Ralph B. and Effie (Fairfield) Leach. He was the owner and operator since 1968 of Leach Express in Islesboro. He enjoyed his family, lobstering and loved his work. He also enjoyed spending time with his good friend, Nancy. He liked taking long rides to Massachusetts for Narragansett beer. He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Jackie (Grispi) Leach. He is survived by his children, Dana and his wife, Gail Berry, Philip and his wife, Audrey Berry, Joanne Quimby and her husband, Raymond; brothers and sisters, Harrison Leach and wife, Margaret, Estelle Manning, Sandra Leach, Rodney Leach and wife, Judy; grandchildren, Michael, Nathan, Tiger, Jonathan, Jeremy, Kyla, Kelsey, Nick and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held noon Saturday, Aug. 12, at Second Baptist Church, Islesboro. Friends and family who wish may make donations in Jack’s memory to the Islesboro Health Center, P.O.
