HOULTON – Joseph Augustine Kirlin, 80, died Oct. 4, 2006, at a local hospital. He was born Sept. 23, 1926, at Baileyville, the son of John L. and Mildred (Moore) Kirlin. Joseph served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War II. Later, Joe became a potato farmer and trucker. He was a member of Saint Mary of the Visitation Church. He is survived by his sister, Mary Greaney of Orrington; many nieces, nephews and several close friends, especially Robert Rairdon and Floyd Ivey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Saint Mary of the Visitation Church, with the Rev. Hilary Cameron, celebrant. Interment will be at Old Saint Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Saint Mary’s Catholic Church; or the charity of one’s choice, care of Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton, ME 04730.
