GUILFORD – Joseph C. Morin, 85, died peacefully Nov. 2, 2005, at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Scarborough. Joseph was born June 5, 1920, in Parkman, the son of Peter Morin and Hatti (Theriault) Morin. He was the husband of the late Gladys L. Morin who passed away in 1996. Joseph was a loving father who served his country through World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1940-1945, and the U.S. Air Force from 1948-1969, retiring Oct. 31, 1969, with the rank of chief master sergeant. Joseph Clifford was employed by the United States Post Office in Dover, N.H. for three years, and Guilford, for 12 years. He was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an auxiliary member of the American Legion Post No. 119 for 28 years in Guilford. He also served as selectman for the town of Parkman, for five terms of office. Joseph is survived by three children and seven grandchildren. He is survived by a son, Clifford Morin and his wife, Debra, of Portsmouth, N.H. and their two children, Lisa of Old Saybrook, Conn. and Joseph of Portsmouth, N.H. He is also survived by a son, Steven Morin and his wife, Janet, and their three daughters, Andrea, Pamela and Jacqueline of Cranston, R.I. He is survived by a daughter, Mona Wilbur and her husband, Tom, and their three daughters, Lori, Christine and Heather of Gales Ferry, Conn. Joseph is predeceased by the following brothers and sisters, Mona, Arthur, John, Donald, Rita and Vena. He is survived by two sisters and one brother, Veda Ames of Maine, Helen Calos of Connecticut and Roger Morin of Texas; nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Sangerville, with the Rev. Fr. James Robichaud officiating. Burial will follow at the Lawn Cemetery in Guilford. Those who wish may make donations in his memory to the American Legion Post No. 119, P.O. Box 215, Guilford, ME 04443.
