CASWELL and ALLAGASH – Joseph Clarence Hafford Sr., 77, died Feb. 2, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 5, 1927, in Allagash, the son of William J. and Mary A. (Walker) Hafford. Joseph served in the military from 1945 until his retirement as a Ssgt. in 1969. He served during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a life member of the DAV and member of the American Legion. He will be remembered for his humor, stories of his military days, his cowboy boots and his love for his children, nieces and nephews. He is survived by his children, Glenda, Joseph Jr., Laurie “Little Sis”, Julie “JJ”; two special people that were there for him, Pamela and Dr. Harry Peddie; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two daughters, Brenda and Judy; three brothers, Phillip, Hampton and Lloyd; five sisters, Sarah Ellen, Dorothy, Laura, Bessie, and Josephine “Sis”. At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours. Funeral services with full military honors will be announced in the spring. Arrangements are being conducted by the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
