HOULTON – Joseph “Joe” Belden, 72, died May 17, 2006, in Houlton. He was born June 20, 1933, in Erie, Pa., the son of Ivan and Hilda (Sutton) Belden. Joe served in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lillian (Codrey) Belden of Houlton; nine children, Joey Belden of Virginia, June Rae Burns, Carolyn Belden, Danny Belden, all of Ohio, Jean Anne Lake of Houlton, Susan Boyd of Florida, Buddy Benson of New Hampshire, Timmy Benson of South Carolina, and Stephen Codrey of Littleton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, David Belden; two sisters, Edith Sablyake and Nancy Wolf, all of Pennsylvania; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one son, Tommy. Friends may call 4-5 p.m. Saturday at the Bethel Pentecostal Church, Oakfield, where funeral services will be held 5 p.m. with the Rev. Marcel Daigle officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.
