THOMASTON, Conn. – Mr. Joseph R. Chandler, 80, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at Waterbury Hos-pital. He was the husband of the late Virginia E. (Ripley) Chandler. Mr. Chandler was born July 23, 1926, in Brooklin, son of the late Roscoe and Mary (Manning) Chandler. He was retired from the Associated Spring Co., Bristol, Conn., and was an Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by three sons, Roscoe J. Chandler of Texas, Austin J. Chandler of Torrington, Conn., and Gregory K. Chandler of Thomaston, Conn.; three daughters, Lolita C. Michaud of Thomaston, Conn., Mary Ann Orzell of Morris, Conn., and Dr. Valerie L. Kuykendall of New York; three brothers, Coleman Rol-and Chandler of Vermont, James Chandler of Maine and Bernard Chandler of Maine; one sister, Josephine Kelley of Thomaston, Conn.; 11 grandchildren, Ted Michaud, Betsy Chadwick, Joseph Chandler II, Candace Kuykendall, Wesley Chandler, Virginia Orzell, Blake Chandler, Abby Orzell, Courtney Chandler, Tyler Chandler and Cassie Chandler; five great-grandchildren, David Michaud, Hannah Chadwick, Keely Michaud, Sammy Chadwick and Lexi Chandler; several nephews and nieces. A graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Ellsworth. Calling hours will be held 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 215 Main St., Ellsworth.
