BROOKSVILLE – Eric Churchill Sr., 56, died peacefully May 24, 2007, after a brief battle with cancer. Eric was a beloved father, son, brother and friend. He loved the ocean, being with his family and his friends, and the opportunity to make people laugh with a story or a joke, for anyone who would listen. Eric had many skills and gifts; he was a welder, a boat builder, a mechanic and a carpenter, and had many other interests as well. He loved to stay busy and he always found time to help others build or fix something. In recent years he looked forward to going to Texas to spend time with his “Texas family.” He is survived by his two sons, Eric Jr. and his wife, Deanna, of Brooksville, as well as Jody and his wife, Jen, of Ashburnham, Mass. He will be sadly missed by his loving partner, Linda Carter, who, along with her family, brought him much happiness for the past four years. He is also survived by his parents, Thomas and Barbara Churchill; his brother, Tom; and his sister, Elin and her family; as well as nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Eric was predeceased by his first wife and their two young children. A celebration of Eric’s life will be held for family and friends 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Dan Paul’s home, 167 Henry Point Road, West Brooksville; follow the signs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eric’s memory to Hancock County Home Care and Hospice, P.O. Box 156, Blue Hill, ME 04614.
