AUBURN – Joseph Raymond Brennick, son of John and Yvonne (Provencher) Brennick, passed away Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at The Hospice House, Auburn. He was born Dec. 21, 1919, in Rumford. After graduating from Stevens High School, Rumford, he attended Farmington Normal School. In 1942 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and was discharged in 1945 as a captain. He went on to further his degree at Farmington Normal School where he met and married Inez Hilton on their graduation day, June 15, 1946. He continued his formal education, receiving a Master of Education at the University of Maine – Orono. He served as superintendent of schools throughout Maine, retiring in 1978 from MSAD 9. He is survived by his wife of 60 years and his six children, Joseph Jr. and his wife, Katherine, Pamela Brown and her husband, Paul, Michael and his wife, Joan, Peter, Patrick and his wife, Kate, Susan Koch and spouse, Fred; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
