LINCOLN – Josephine “Jo” I. Hyde, 95, wife of the late Cony B. Hyde, died Dec. 9, 2005, at her home. She was born Dec. 28, 1909, in Lee, the daughter of Irving and Maggie (Crocker) Lyons. Jo moved with her family from Lee to Lincoln so the children could attend Lincoln schools, where she graduated from Mattanawcook Academy. She was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by three children, Iola McCleary and her special friend, Ricky Weatherbee, of Millinocket; Sherwood “Barney” Hyde and his wife, Bertha and Dana Hyde and his companion, Mary Jo Hammond, all of Lincoln; seven grandchildren, Sherry Veino of Orono, Michael and Mary McCleary of Millinocket, Jan and Dave Rebel of Milford, Mass., Lorri and Skip Haskell of Millinocket, Marjolaine and Joel Harriet of Corrina, Christopher Hyde of San Jose, Calif. and Jamie Madore and her companion, James McLeen, of Brewer; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Cony, who died in March of 1990; she was predeceased by a daughter, Caroline Ewing, in October of 1998; as well as four brothers, Jerome, Hollis, Ernest and Ansel Lyons; and two sisters, Dorothy Hanscom and Charlotte Hobbs; and two sons-in-law, Bernard “Red” McCleary and Robert “Bob” Varney Friends may call 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Myles Cyr officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
