HOWLAND- Philip E. Hatch, 78, went to be with his Lord the evening of Dec. 10, 2005, in Lincoln. He was born Dec. 17, 1926, in Howland, the son of Millard F. and Clara (Ayers) Hatch. Philip retired from Great Northern Paper in East Millinocket. He enjoyed many of his previous forms of employment from State trooper to truck driver to security guard. His favorite job was as a lathe operator at Atlas Plywood in Howland. Philip was a deacon at Calvary Temple Assembly of God in East Millinocket. He served in the U.S. Army during the Second World War and was a member of the American Legion. For years he served on the Howland selectmen board and other town committees and as a town representative to Penobscot Valley Hospital. Philip was predeceased by his wife, Margaret, on April 21, 1999. His survivors include a son, James and his wife, Laurie Hatch, of Farmington and their children, Michal, Jacob, and Julia; and a daughter, Linda Reyes and her husband, David, of Barstow, Calif. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Regginal Adams officiating.
