VAN BUREN – Josephine M. Michaud, 73, died unexpectedly Aug. 15, 2005, as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Van Buren. She was born April 2, 1932, in Grand Isle, the daughter of Gilbert and Beatrice (Tardif) Michaud. She lived and worked in Hartford, Conn., for many years prior to returning to Maine in 1974. Josie was an avid sports fan and treasured her beloved Red Sox. Her greatest sport, however was fishing. She also loved to laugh and make other people as her many friends will attest to. She is survived by two brothers, Frank of West Hartford, Conn., and Guy of Clinton, Mass.; three sisters, Marie of Newington, Conn., Jill of Cleveland, Tenn., and Patricia of Eagle River, Alaska; three half sisters, Carmella of West Hartford, Conn., Ann Marie of Enfield, Conn., and Rebecca of Machias; six half brothers, Joseph of Vernon, Conn., Norman of Phoenix, Ariz., Michael of Madison, N.Y., John and Roger, both of Hermon, and Richard of Van Buren; several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A funeral service for family and her close friends will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in her memory to the Jimmy Fund at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115-9983.
