CARIBOU – Josephine Rose Tardie, 72, died June 13, 2007, in Caribou, after a brief illness. She was born Oct. 21, 1934, in Jewett City, Conn., the daughter of John and Ulyianna (Atlinski) Wojciehowski. She served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. Josephine was employed at Cary Medical Center for 20 years as an operating room technician and was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She married Elmer Tardie Oct. 7, 1967. Surviving, in addition to her husband of Caribou, are four sons and daughters-in-law, Nelson and Kelly Tardie of Seattle, Wash., David and Michele Tardie of New Sweden, Kenneth and Gloriana Tardie of New Town, Conn., and Tommy and Davi Tardie of Manhatten, N.Y.; one brother, Johnnie Wojciehowski of Connecticut; two sisters, Helen Wojciehowski of Caribou and Mary Swanson of Florida; seven grandchildren, Justin, Zachary, Weston, Tanner, Nelson, River and Sawyer Tardie. Graveside funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, June 15, at Northern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Caribou, with the Fr. David Raymond, officiating.
