BUCKSPORT – Joyce Marie Tomlin, 60, lost her valiant struggle with cancer Feb. 2, 2005, peacefully at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born Sept. 17, 1944, in Presque Isle to Beryl Hughes Willett. Joyce is survived by and will be sadly missed by her love and companion, Roy A. Carstensen Sr., her beloved children: son, Kenneth J. Tomlin and daughter, Kimberlee J. Lovely; three adoring grandchildren, Courtnie, Andy and Sara Lovely; two sisters, Paula Judkins and her husband, Elbridge, and Frances Whitten and her husband, Dale; the Carstensen children, and many loving nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her good friends, Bev and Lorraine Young. Joyce was predeceased by her husband Carl D. Tomlin Jr.; stepfather, J.D. Willett; a sister, Dona Wood; and nephew, John Whitten. A memorial service will celebrate her life at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at the Grace United Methodist Church, 193 Union St., Bangor, with the Rev. Grace Bartlett and Pastor Carol Stevens officiating. Following the services a gathering for conversation and refreshment will be held at the church hall. Spring interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou. Arrangements by the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
