ELLSWORTH – Juanita M. Alley, 87, died Jan. 27, 2005, at an Ellsworth healthcare facility. She was born in Franklin, Nov. 4, 1917, the daughter of Stanley and Lillian (Harriman) Lawrie. After many years of living in South Portland, Juanita and her husband of 68 years, Henry M. Alley moved back to the area in 1990. Juanita enjoyed sewing, knitting and cooking. For many years she was a member of the Ellsworth United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband; a sister, Marilyn Butler, of Franklin; a daughter, Joanne Harris, of Orr’s Island; two sons, Dean Alley and wife, Liz, of Lubec, Mark Alley and wife, Wendy, of Cumberland; grandchildren, Melinda Richter and husband, Chuck, Andrea Michelson and husband, Kevin, Leeanne Keller and husband, Tom, Shamus Alley, Kristin Alley and Jonathan Alley; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, four brothers and two sisters. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at the Ellsworth United Methodist Church, 21 Hancock St., Ellsworth. Spring burial will be at Seaside Cemetery, Blue Hill.
