SWANZEY, N.H. – Judith A. (Littlefield) O’Leary, 69, died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Cheshire Medical Center, Keene, N.H., after a brief illness. She was born Feb. 11, 1939, in Passadumkeag, the daughter of Bessie (Burgess) Prue. As a young child she was raised by her grandparents, Fred and Leona Burgess, and later by her mother and stepfather, Howard Prue. Judie attended local schools in Orono and graduated from Orono High School, Class of 1957. She continued her education and received a Bachelor of Science degree in business from the University of Maine. On July 26, 1985, Judie married Dan O’Leary. They had been married for almost 22 years before she passed. Mrs. O’Leary had lived in Swanzey, N.H., for the past eight years. She had worked at the University of New Hampshire as a purchasing agent and for the U.S. Census Bureau, prior to retirement. She lived in Richmond Heights, a suburb of Cleveland, prior to relocating locally. She was an avid reader and in her spare time she enjoyed working in the garden, bringing life and color to the flowers she planted. She also liked to knit and sew. Judith is survived by her husband, Dan O’Leary of Swanzey, N.H.; two daughters, Olivia Stafford, nee Cheryl Ann Averill, and her husband, Lee Stafford, of Thompson, Ohio, and Kelly Lynne (Averill) Grondin and her husband, Luke, of Shapleigh; and four grandchildren, Jaime DuPont, Ian DuPont, Bryony DuPont and Dane Grondin. A celebration of life service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. There are no calling hours. Burial will take place privately.
