BANGOR – Judith “Judy” Morin, 65, went to be with her Lord Friday, March 28, 2008, surrounded by her loved ones at a Bangor health care facility. She was born April 17, 1942, in South Paris, daughter of Louis George and Sylvia Morin. Judy’s love of golf started in high school before graduating from Norway High. She attended Bliss College and graduated from Farmington Teachers College with a Bach-elor’s of Science in education, achieving one of her life’s goals. She continued her master’s studies in the summers. The Department of Defense Dependents School recognized more than 25 years of exceptional federal service as a teacher to military children in Turkey, Goose Bay Labrador and Germany. She was admired and still treasured by her colleagues who did Volks Marches and skiing trips to the Swiss Alps with her. Her service as a military teacher brought together her great devotion to country and children. She was a strong patriotic role model for the children that she taught and loved. Golfing was her passion, highlighted by trophies and a trip to Saint Andrews, Scotland, where she played. The golfer’s hat she brought back would be often spotted in family photos. She retired to West Palm Beach, Fla., in 1992, where she spent most of her days with her mom on the beach, visiting and enjoying the outdoors. Judy loved to tinker and build, especially when helping others. She is survived by her sisters, Cynthia J. Swallow and husband, Pete, of Seboomook, and Marie E. Allmon of Port St. Lucie, Fla. Her special niece and advocates, Lisa A. Ladd, and partner, Marsha Garland, of Hampden; nine nieces and nephews, 26 great-nieces and great-nephews, along with many friends. Judy was a lifelong devoted Catholic. Friends may call 3-5 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, March 31, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bangor, with the Rev. Thomas Lequin, pastor, presider. Interment will be at a later date in West Palm Beach, Fla. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
