BELFAST – Judy P. Luce, 68, passed away May 11, 2006, in Farmington, after a long illness. She was born July 19, 1937, to the late Reginald and Christie (Vining) Pingree. She was raised in Strong, where she went to school and then graduated from Farmington State Teachers College in 1961. She married David Luce, Sept. 22, 1957, who predeceased her Feb. 10, 2001. She moved to Belfast in 1967 where she lived until 2002. She was involved with the Belfast Jayce Wives in which she had many fond memories. She taught home economics at Searsport High School until 1978, where she also coached the girl’s varsity basketball team for one year. She loved camping with family and friends, especially the times at Mount Blue State Park in Farmington. Judy was predeceased by her younger sister, Dawn. She is survived by her brothers, Clyde and Sewall Pingree; two sons, Dale and James Luce; one daughter, Janna Doherty; two granddaughters, Jaime Sturgis and Janden Doherty; two grandsons, Colton and Benjamin Luce; and two great-grandchildren, Mariah and Stanley Sturgis. Visitation will be held noon-1 p.m. Monday, May 15. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday following the visitation at Rackliffe Funeral Home. Burial at the Grove Cemetery, Belfast.
