CASTINE – Joyce Elaine (Willett) Gray, 67, died peacefully, April 29, 2004, at an Ellsworth healthcare facility. She was born June 28, 1936, the daughter of Frank E. and Betty (Brown) Willett. Judy attended Bucksport schools and graduated from Beal College. She worked for several years at the Penobscot Nursing Home as a CNA and was a member of the Rebekah’s. Judy enjoyed giving and her family was extremely important to her. Judy is survived by two sons, Greg Gray and wife, Debbie, of Orland, and Bill Gray and wife, Julie, of Belfast; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Corey, Kaysey, Ben, Heather, Malory, and Jereme; one very special great-grandson, Lucas; two sisters, Nancy Bunker and husband, Paul, of Bucksport, and Dawne Chaffin of Florida; two brothers, Dana Willett and wife, Frani, of Ohio, and Terrance Willett and wife, Geralyn, of Massachusetts; sister in-law, Shirley Willett of Georgia; brother-in-law, Leroy Perkins of Holden; sisters in law, Carolyn Gray, Mary Deans and husband, Lloyd, and Jean Joy, all of Orland; brothers-in-law, Joseph Gray and wife, Norma, of Orland and Florida, Alan Gray and wife, Susan, of Vermont, and Richard Marston of Florida; several nieces and nephews; many special friends. Judy was predeceased by her husband of nearly 48 years, Donald T. Gray on Oct. 12, 2003; her parents; brother, Carleton “Bud” Willett; sister, Jacqueline Perkins; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mr. Lewis Gray; sisters-in-law, Elois Marston, and Irene Bowden and husband, Kenneth; brothers-in-law, Leon Gray, and Jack Joy. Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2004, at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2004, at the North Bucksport United Methodist Church, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Bucksport. A gathering of conversation and refreshment will follow in the church parish hall.
