BANGOR- Juliette G. LaPlante, 82, of Skowhegan, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, on her 82nd birthday, at a local hospital with her loving family by her side. Born Dec. 31, 1923, the daughter of Fortunat and Alva (Letourneau) Le Clair in Waterville, one of ten children. Juliette took special pride in her family, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, making puzzles and playing cards. She also enjoyed helping her son, Richard with splitting wood. She was a life time member of the ladies auxiliary of the VFW in Winslow. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert F. LaPlante in 2000. She is also predeceased by four brothers, Leo Le Clair, Stanley Le Clair, Robert Le Clair and Maurice Le Clair. She is survived by eight loving children, three sons; Tomas LaPlante and his wife, Susan, of Fairfield, Richard LaPlante and his wife, Deborah, of Skowhegan, Robert LaPlante and his wife, Judith, of China. Five daughters, Judy Poulin of Fairfield, Linda Joler and her husband, James, of Beaver Cove, Joanne Vigue and her husband, Valmore, of Madison, Carmen Lander and her husband, Roderick, of Guilford and Mary LaPlante of Albuquerque, N.M. She is survived by 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, three brothers, Emile Le Clair of Waterville, Aldoph Le Clair of Brewer and Nelson Le Clair of Bangor; two sisters, Carmen LaPlante and Lucy Hurard, both of Waterville also survive her, as well as many nieces and nephews. At Juliette’s wishes there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrate 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at Notre Dame Catholic Church, Silver Street, Waterville. Burial will be in the spring at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations in Juliette’s name be made to Healthreach Hospice of Skowhegan, Administrative Offices, 8 Highwood St., P.O. Box 829, Waterville, ME 04903-0829. Arrangements are under the direction of Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville.
