FRANKFORT and BELFAST – June Estelle (Tilton) Lane, 78, wife of the late Alfred F. Lane, passed away peacefully, Sept. 7, 2004, at her home in Belfast. She was born in Boston, Mass., April 2, 1926, the daughter of Nathan and Lillis (Hopkins) Tilton. June was a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1944, (Everett, Mass). She was a resident of Frankfort for more than 50 years, where she was a longtime member of the Frankfort Congregational Church Guild. June worked from her home as a self-employed furniture upholster and homemaker. She and her husband ran Lane’s Farm Market on Verona Island for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, whose focus in life was always on her family. June enjoyed sewing, cross stitching and playing bingo. She is survived by her six children, Frank A. Lane and his wife, Helen, of Mi Wuk Village, Calif., Joel N. Lane and his wife, Pauline, of Frankfort, Bonnie J. Lane of Frankfort, Stephen A. Lane and his wife, Pamela, of Frankfort, James A. Lane and his wife, Karen, of Jaffrey, N.H., and Amy Boardman and her husband, Randy of Nagoya-Shi, Aichi-Ken, Japan; 23 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends at the Edward J. Reynold’s House, Nonie, Candile, Aila and Eleanor. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred in 1995 and by a sister, Lillis Mucci of Haverhill, Mass.
