BELFAST – June I. (Ellis) Raymond, 72, passed away May 16, 2008, at Waldo County General Hospital, Belfast. She was born March 28, 1936, in Belfast, daughter of Ambrose and Blanche (Cook) Ellis. She enjoyed picking and selling strawberries and selling fruits and vegetables out of her Jeep in Hannaford’s parking lot. She also made and sold wreaths for many years, enjoyed going to Beano and visiting with family. She loved taking care of her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; one brother, James Ellis; and one sister, Judy Flagg. June is survived by her spouse of 50 years, Harold “Whitey” Raymond of Belfast; her children, Randy Raymond and wife, Kathy, of Monroe, Juanita Lucas and husband, Lionel, of Kennebunk and Nathan Raymond and wife, Diane, of Stockton Springs; siblings, John Ellis and wife, Barbara, of Belfast, Jenny Libby and husband, Melvin, of Belfast and Janice Gilmore and husband, Kenneth, of Belfast; grandchildren, Katie, Jared, Christopher and wife, Anna, Danny and Chip; great-granddaughter, Meghan; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday.
