WALTHAM – Kenneth C. “Bub” Jordan, 86, died May 15, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. He was born July 24, 1921, in Waltham, the son of Arthur L. and Bernice B. (Clark) Jordan. Ken served in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed at the Eiffel Tower and there in Paris, he met his wife, Paulette, and married June 29, 1946. He worked as a nuclear physicist for 36 years for Monsanto Satellite. He invented the generator for the Galileo Institute, which sent pictures back from both the moon and Jupiter. In 1982 he retired and they moved back to Maine. Ken was an avid reader and kept journals of the weather as a hobby. He loved walking on his blueberry land, enjoyed the Maine woods and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Paulette (Courbon) of Waltham; sister, Phyllis Poor of Belfast; special niece, Michele Golden of Bangor; great-nephew, Paul Aucoin of Brewer; numerous other nieces and nephews in the United States and France, along with great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Jordan Jr. Visitation hours will be 1-2 p.m. Monday, May 19, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Waltham.
