EFFINGHAM, N.H. – Lois (Reed) Tibbetts, 70, of Riverwood Circle, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 11, 2008, in Alton, N.H. She was born July 24, 1937, in Bangor, the daughter of the late Archie and Catherine (Higgins) Reed. Lois and her husband lived in Bourne, Mass., for 37 years before moving to Effingham, N.H., four years ago, after spending many summers camping and fishing in Ossipee, N.H. Lois had worked as a beautician in Massachusetts for several years. She was a former member of the Rebekah’s, Maine. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Roscoe V. Tibbetts of Effingham, N.H.; two daughters, Debra Loftus and her husband, John, of South Boston, Mass., and Constance Joyner and her husband, Gerald, of Mashpee, Mass.; a son, Kevin Tibbetts of South Yarmouth, Mass.; six grandsons, two granddaughters and one great-grandson. She also leaves behind two sisters, Tharon Carmichael of Rockland and Nancy Chase and her husband, Dick, of Williamstown, Vt.; three brothers, Gilbert Reed and his wife, Marie, of Carmel, Neal Reed and his wife, Shirley, of The Villages, Fla., and Allan Reed and his wife, Carol, of North Attleboro, Mass.; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Douglas Reed; and her sisters, Constance Morin and Christine Reardon. Calling hours were be 11 a.m.-noon Thursday at Lord Funeral Home, Route 28, Wolfeboro, N.H. Funeral services were be held noon at the funeral home. Burial was at Grant Hill Cemetery, Center Ossipee, N.H.
