MACHIAS – I, June (Ingalls) Dinsmore, was born Feb. 15, 1922, the daughter of Adelle (Smith) Ingalls and John N. Ingalls Jr. Today, Feb. 5, 2005, I went to sleep for the last time. I graduated from Washington Academy, attended UMM (in my middle years), and was a secretary at the college for 17 years. This year, my wonderful, beloved husband and I celebrated 61 years together. We were blessed with two great children, Cheryl D. Sweetnam, and Mark T. Dinsmore. Cheryl is a Teacher/Artist and lives on the island of Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles. Mark is an Electrical Design Engineer and married to a very special lady, Dr. Andrea Kozol, a biologist. They reside in Sudbury, Mass. They gave us two beautiful grandchildren, Maia and Nathan, whom we adore. We, as a family, have always loved the great out-of-doors. Since we have lived on Bog Lake for many, many summers, we have enjoyed numerous outdoor sports: canoeing, boating, swimming, fishing, and overnight camping. Winter weekends were spent on the slopes, for we all loved to ski. During our retirement years we enjoyed traveling throughout the USA in our travel-trailer. After our return, we were privileged to share our lives with an extraordinarily intelligent and renowned cat named Oreo. In addition to my husband, two children, and two grandchildren, I am survived by two sisters; Minerva Dinsmore of Lubec, and Lois Oullette of Bolton, Conn. and their husbands, Milton Dinsmore and Norman Oullette; one brother, Harold Ingalls and his wife, Laurie, of Jacksonville, Maine; a nephew, Arthur Andrews and his wife, Marlene, of Camden; and by five other nephews and eight nieces. I was predeceased by my mother; my father; three sisters, Muriel Zajack, Josephine Andrews, and Faye Lubahn; and one brother, Newton Ingalls. Don’t be sad for me, for I have experienced so many of life’s joys. I leave this world with a grateful heart and a head full of wonderful memories. It is my wish to have a graveside service only which will be announced at a later date in the spring. Arrangements are under the care of Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Machias.
