ASHLAND – June J. Coty, 86, died Nov. 17, 2003, at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. She was born Sept. 14, 1917, in Lexington, Mass., the daughter of Harry C. and Vertie (Siebert) Johnson. June and her husband, William, owned and operated Big Brook Logging and Pine Tree Trucking in Ashland for many years, where she was the manager and bookkeeper. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Ashland for many years. June enjoyed summers at her camp at Portage Lake, reading, traveling, and going out to lunch with friends. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, William J. Coty of Ashland; two sons, Ronald Coty of Portage Lake, and Gordon Coty of Ashland; one brother, Gordon Johnson of New Hampshire; five grandchildren, Glori Coty and her companion, Barry Baranowski, and Gordon Coty Jr., all of Ashland; Holly Coty and companion, Jeff Pelkey, of Caribou; Susie Beaulieu of Presque Isle; Vicki Saucier and her family of Simsbury, Conn.; two great-grandchildren, Paige Beaulieu and Kearstin Coty. She will also be sadly missed by a special friend, Connie Patterson. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Harry Johnson. Relatives and friends may call 11 a.m. until time of service on Thursday at the Union Congregational Church, Sheridan Road, Ashland. A funeral service will be held at the church at 1 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Thomas L. Caton officiating. Interment will be in the Ashland Municipal Cemetery.
