FREETOWN, Mass. – June M. (Johnson) Fernandes, 84, of Lucie Avenue, East Freetown, Mass., died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, Mass. She was the wife of the late William Cole, Harold Marsh, and Leonard Fernandes. She was born in Carmel, the daughter of the late Lewis and Isabella (Freund) Johnson. She attended Carmel High School, had also lived in Bangor and New Bedford, Mass., and for the past 31 years she resided in East Freetown. June was formerly employed by various shoe factories in Maine. She was a member of the Congregational Church. She is survived by two daughters, Jean Gelinas of Acushnet, Mass., and Judy Days of East Freetown, Mass.; one son, Barry Cole of Ohio; 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, at the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, Mass. followed by interment at Acushnet Cemetery.
