BANGOR and HOLDEN Justina M. Kane, 81, wife of the late William Kane, died March 26, 2004, in Bradford, after a short illness with her family by her side. She was born Sept. 21, 1922, in Benedicta, the daughter of Ray and Thursie (Gantnier) McAvoy. Justina graduated from St. Benedicts in 1939. She then moved to Bar Harbor to work in Holy Redeemer Rectory. There she met her loving husband, Bill, and moved to Holden, where they made their home with their three boys. Over the years Tina worked in many homes cleaning and taking care of the elderly. She then moved to Bangor as a resident of Northwood apartments. Tina was a member of St. Johns Parish. She loved to bowl, golf, quilt, play cards, travel, and watch her grandsons at their sporting events. Surviving are her three sons, Raymond Kane and his wife, Lucille, of Holden, David Kane and his wife, Valarie, of Bradford, and Jim Kane and his wife, Amber, of Wurtsboro, N.Y.; grandchildren, Lorrie, Ray Scott, Josh, Billy, Joey, and Danny; great-grandchildren, Josh, Nathan and Piper; sister, Audrey Darling of Millinocket; many nieces and nephews. Justina was predeceased by her husband, William; brothers, Basil and George of Benedicta; sister, Louise of Connecticut. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2004, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Johns Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Richard McLaughlin, pastor, Celebrant. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments in the Parish Hall after the service.
