HUNTINGTOWN, Md. – Matthew Steven Bertolaccini, 14, of Huntingtown, Md., died March 11, 2004, as a result of an accident. He was born March 16, 1990, in Honolulu, Hawaii, beloved son of U.S. Navy Commander Steven and Deborah (Haines) Bertolaccini. Matt was an 8th grade honor student at Plum Point Middle School in Huntingtown, Md., where he was involved in many school and church activities including basketball, soccer, band, Foster Children Program and Transformers. He is survived by sisters, Kelly, Bailey and Christy; paternal grandparents, Joseph C. and Eleanor Bertolaccini of Orrington; maternal grandfather, Roy Haines; aunts and uncles, Sandra and Stephen Babin and their children, Sarah and Ryan of Brewer, Joseph R. and Christina Bertolaccini and their children, Corinne, Kara and Erica of Winslow, Amy and Scott Halliday of Gallup, N.M.; Laurie and Wayne Eklund and their son, Wesley of Belair, Md.; and Kim and Ken Watts and their children, Kenneth and Elle of Forest Hill, Md. He was predeceased by maternal grandmother, Regina Haines of Forest Hill, Md. A celebration of his life was held March 16, 2004, at the Chesapeake Church in Huntingtown, Md., and a candle light memorial service at his middle school on March 17.
