BANGOR – Katharina Maria (Knippschild) Stover, 80, died Jan. 28, 2008, at her home, after a lengthy illness. Kay was born Sept. 3, 1927, in Mardorf, West Germany, daughter of Adolf and Maria (Steuerwald) Knippschild. She was an avid bingo player in the Bangor/Brewer and Orono/Old Town area. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence H. Stover of Bangor, and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Germany last September. Kay is also survived by an older sister, Anna; a brother, Wilhelm and his wife, Annaliesa; a brother, Fritz and his wife, Lucie; a nephew, Rolf and his wife, Irene, and their daughter, Lena, all of Germany. Kay was predeceased by her parents, Adolf and Maria Knippschild; and several brothers and sisters of Germany. The family wishes to thank the Bangor Visiting Nurses and Hospice personnel for their excellent care during the last few months.
