WATERVILLE – Katherine (Babineau) Gerry passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Mid Maine Medical Center in Waterville, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 23, 1925, in Lincoln, the daughter of Edward and Margie Babineau. Kay had worked at Lincoln Pulp & Paper, also at a local florist shop and had sold Copper Kraft. She completed a Ward Clerk course at what is now Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor. She had many hobbies including ceramics, knitting, sewing, upholstering, needlepoint, reading and braiding rugs. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lincoln. Kay and her husband wintered in Florida for many years, but their camp at the Narrows in Lincoln was their favorite place. Many family parties and reunions took place there. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis; a sister, Yvonne Babineau; and a brother, Eugene Babineau. Surviving are her daughter, Yvonne Grant and her husband, Thomas, of Waterville; her son, Randolph Gerry and his wife, Barbara, of Winslow; her grandchildren, Brett Drouin of Waterville, Michelle Gerry of Winslow, and Jodi Zemrak of Ellsworth; a brother, Edward Babineau and his wife, Alfreda, of Gorham; three sisters, Winona Palmer of Torrington, Conn., Leone Lovejoy and her husband, Philip, of Cape Elizabeth, and Jo-Anne Twombly and her husband, Alton, of Lincoln; many nieces, nephews and friends. At her request, no services are planned at this time. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
