BANGOR and BREWER Katherine E. (Crabb) Murry “Mame Kay,” wife of the late Arthur W. Murry, went home to her Lord, May 20, 2008. Kay was born in Bangor, the daughter of Walter J. and Ida (Welch) Crabb. She was a life long resident of Bangor and attended St. Johns Catholic School and John Bapst. Kay was a stay-at-home mom and in her later years, took care of several adults, and Katie and Michael Downs, who she loved dearly. She was a lifelong member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor, and loved the Blessed Mother and the rosary. She belonged to St. John’s Women’s Council and a member of James W. Williams Unit of American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her beloved daughter and her husband, Julia Ann and Thomas Jacobs; the love of her life, her grandson, Michael T. Jacobs; sister-in-law, Alice Crabb of South Portland; godson, John Alderman of Texas; special niece and nephew, Joanne Crabb Ford and Walter Lincer; other nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ann Downes, and Susie, Rod and Rebecca Jacobs. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters. The family expresses special thanks to the staff at Woodlands of Brewer and Maine Veteran’s Home, who embraced Kay with love during this time. Thanks a million. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 23, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 300 State St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at St. John’s Catholic Church with her nephew, the Rev. John T. Crabb, SJ, principal celebrant. The family invites relatives and friends to share in a celebration of Kay’s life immediately after the Mass. Interment will be at a later date at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery.
