FORT FAIRFIELD – Katherine L. McCue, 88, wife of John F. McCue, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 28, 2007, at a Presque Isle health care facility, after an extended illness. She was born May 28, 1918, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, the daughter of Guy and Edith (McKinzy) Ashworth. Katherine attended Plaster Rock, New Brunswick, schools and was married to John F. McCue, May 28, 1948. She was a member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Fort Fairfield and the Fort Fairfield Rebekah’s. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCue was predeceased by one brother, Claude Ashworth. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John F. McCue of Fort Fairfield; three sons, Robert Ashworth of Lady Smith, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Gary McCue and his wife, Kathy, of Limington, and Greg McCue and his wife, Elaine, of Apple Valley, Minn.; four brothers, Ralph Ashworth, Nevil Ashworth, Cecil Ashworth and his wife, Mary, all of Plaster Rock, New Brunswick, and Hughy Ashworth and his wife, Rosemary, of Vancouver Island, British Columbia; four sisters, Edith McGlinn of Bermuda, Alice Linton and her husband, Ronald, of Plaster Rock, New Brunswick, Eileen Forbes of Caribou and Marguerette Cahoun and her husband, Richard, of Waltham, Mass.; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 2, at Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 166 Main St., Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Smith officiating. A time of fellowship with refreshments will be held immediately after the funeral service at St. Paul’s Parish Hall. Interment will take place later in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Katherine to the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, care of Gloria Towle, P.O. Box 737, Fort Fairfield, ME 04742.
