DIXMONT – Katherine Lee Weber, 53, passed away Oct. 25, 2005, as the result of an automobile accident. She was born Jan. 26, 1952, in Washington, D.C., the daughter of William J. Weber Jr. and Ruth A. (Dutton) Weber. Katherine was born and raised in Washington, D.C. She received her bachelor of science degree in natural resource development and a masters degree in community planning from the University of Rhode Island. She was a doctoral candidate in plant science at the University of Maine, graduating in May 2005. Her first job in Maine was on the planning board in Hancock County. She later spent time on both faculty and staff with the University of Maine and as a city planner for the City of Bangor. Most recently she was employed at Husson College in the College Planning Office. Katherine was a communicant of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church of Pittsfield. Animals have always been an important part of Katherine’s life. She began her life long love of horses at a riding academy in the Washington D.C. area at the age of seven. At the time of her death she had two horses, two German Shepherd dogs and 13 cats on her farm in Dixmont. Katherine is survived by her father, William Weber, of Gaithersburg, Md. and two brothers, Robert Weber of Gaithersburg, Md. and Richard Weber of Richfield, Ohio. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the G. Peirce Webber Center, Peabody Hall of Husson College, 1 College Circle, Bangor, with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson, Chaplain of Husson College and the Rev. Emmanuel Iheaka, Pastor of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church of Pittsfield, officiating.
