BANGOR – Katherine Lucile Major, 50, died Dec. 1, 2004, at a local medical facility. She leaves her son, Brandon Jones of Bangor; daughter, Kirsten Sarah Jones of Holden; mother, Ruth Hoedebecke Fouts; and brother, Ric Major, both of Springfield, Ill. to cherish her memory. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. Katherine attended College of the Atlantic and the University of Maine, obtaining her bachelor’s degree in art. As a writing talent, she leaves behind many words, ideas and visions. She was a strong woman and she will be missed beyond reason. A remembrance of Kate’s life will be held at 6 p.m., Dec. 10, at the Unitarian Universalist Church, Park St., Bangor. Family will receive visitors at that time. There will be no wake. Her memorial will be held in Effingham, Ill. in January.
