GUILFORD – Katherine (Somers) Moody, 96, wife of the late Sewall Leslie Moody, died Sunday, June 12, 2005, at her home in Guilford. She was born Dec. 26, 1908, in Lubec, the daughter of John and Susie (King) Somers. She graduated from Woodland High School, Class of 1926, and Gilman Commercial School in Bangor, Class of 1928. She came to Guilford in 1934 and was employed in the office of Hardwood Products Company for several years. She was an active member of the Guilford United Methodist Church where she managed the Thrift Shop, served as treasurer, member of the U.M.W., and served as church organist for twenty years. She and her husband Leslie were instrumental in starting the Guilford Historical Society. Kay was a Gold Star Mother, and as the oldest resident of Guilford, was a recipient of the Boston Post Cane. She is survived by a nephew, and will be sadly missed by the Kirk family. She was predeceased by her son, Thomas Moody. At her request, there will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2005, at the Elmwood Cemetery in Guilford, with the Rev. Daniel Bollen, officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Guilford Memorial Library, P.O.
