SWANVILLE and WOODBRIDGE, Conn. – Kathleen A. Johnson, 53, died unexpectedly Nov. 14, 2007, in Belfast. She was born Jan. 10, 1954, in New Haven, Conn., the daughter of Robert J. and Eleanor G. (Gurtowski) Murray. Kathy grew up in Meriden, Conn., attending Malony High School and Central Connecticut State University. She was trained as a blood bank specialist, working for the Red Cross and St. Raphael’s Hospital, New Haven, Conn. Kathy loved music and playing the violin. She moved to Maine in 2002 in search of a less hectic lifestyle and made Swanville her home. Kathy became an honor student at the University of Maine and was in the process of fulfilling her long time dream of becoming a nurse. She is survived by her husband, Robert R. Johnson; her sons, Daniel and Brian; her daughter, Melissa and her fiance, Adam Lockhart; and her brother, Kyle and sister-in-law, Sue. Visitation for family and friends will be held 4-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Young Funeral Home, 31 West Main St., Searsport. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 81 Court St., Belfast, with Father Joseph Koury, celebrant. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Swanville.
