PITTSFIELD – Kathleen Althea (Parker) Brooks, 87, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 18, 2006, with her loving family by her side. She was born Dec. 15, 1918, at St. Albans, a daughter of the late Archie Daniel Parker Sr. and Phyllis Jane (Goundry) Parker. On Oct. 29, 1939, she married Foster Erwin Brooks Sr. Kathleen was a homemaker, raising eight children. She loved spending time with the family, playing cards, going on mother and daughter trips, Friday night family time and, most of all, giving her many hugs and kisses to everyone. She attended the First Baptist Church in Hartland. She was predeceased by her husband in 1978; two sons, Sherwood in 1977 and Larry Tibbetts in 2002; and a granddaughter, Nikki Brooks in 2001; as well as five brothers, Wallace, Howard, Elbridge, Archie and John. She is survived by three sons, Foster Brooks Jr. and wife, Jackie, Dale Brooks and wife, Jeanne, all of Hartland, Daniel and friend, Frances, of Burnham; three daughters, Phyllis Braley and husband, Thomas Sr., of Hartland, Deborah and David Verzoni of Winslow and Wendy Brooks and friend, Bo, of Pittsfield; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Tibbetts of St. Albans; two brothers, Ulysses Parker and wife, Ginny, Henry Parker and wife, Ethelyn; six sisters, Madeline Hollister, Arline and husband, Earle Jewell, Freda and husband, Gerald Wheeler, Sarah Humphrey, Iona Knight and Pauline Coolen; and an aunt, Ruth and husband, Clarence Campbell; 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She had a special love for Pam Brooks, Larry Labreck and Belinda Weese. She will be missed by all that she touched. A funeral service and celebration of Kitty’s life will be held 10 a.m. Friday, July 21, at the First Baptist Church in Hartland with the Rev. Timothy Pemper officiating. Friends may call at the church 9 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at Maloon Cemetery, St. Albans. A time of fellowship with family and friends will be held at the church after the committal services. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
