HAMLIN – Kathleen M. “Kathy” Ayotte, 57, formerly of Andover, Conn., died May 28, 2006, at her residence in Hamlin, after a courageous 10-year battle with cancer. She was born April 20, 1949, in Van Buren, the daughter of Rene and Edwina (St. Jean) Rossignol. Kathy was a graduate of East Hartford High School in Connecticut and was employed in the clerical field most of her life, having worked in offices for Pratt and Whitney for several years. She and her husband, Arnold, had relocated to Hamlin in May of 2002. She will be remembered for her joyful and fun-living spirit and positive attitude towards life. She loved people and could light up a room with her presence. A woman of great faith, her demeanor helped her and those around her persevere through her illness for the last 10 years. In addition to her parents of East Hartford, Conn., Kathy is survived by her husband, Arnold T. Ayotte of Hamlin; two sons, Wayne Ayotte of Fort Kent and Michael Ayotte and his wife, Anne, of Warner, N.H.; two brothers, Richard Rossignol and his wife, Patty, of Coventry, Conn. and Allen Rossignol and his wife, Paula, of Hebron, Conn.; four grandchildren, Keith, Kevin, Rachel and Rebecca Ayotte. She was predeceased by her sister, Carlene Bouchard in 2004. Relatives and friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
