KATHRYN A. MORAKIS CORINTH and LYNN, MASS. Kathryn A. Morakis, 84, died Jan. 26, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 27, 1919, in Lynn, Mass., the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Mary (Kearney) Costello. Kathryn graduated from St. Joseph’s Institute and the Lynn English High School. She lived most of her life in Lynn, Mass., where she worked at her family’s business, the former Costello’s Bookstore. Kathryn moved to Corinth after her husband’s retirement. Surviving are her husband, David Morakis of Corinth; sister, Claire M. Pitts of Jamaica Plain, Mass.; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Jerry J. and Charles W. Costello; three sisters, Eleanor Palombo, Genevieve Bromka, and Mary G. O’Shea. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor, with the Rev. Richard McLaughlin, pastor, celebrant. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
