HOLDEN – Kathryn A. Muncey, 70, died June 23, 2008, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 25, 1938, in Bangor, the daughter of Edmond J. and Elizabeth A. (Simmons) Goodie Sr. Kathryn attended Brewer High School and was employed at Calais Regional Hospital for several years. She was dedicated to and lived for her family. She loved the time she spent with her grandchildren, and she enjoyed camping and fishing. Surviving are her husband, Merrill H. Muncey Sr. of Holden; three children, Merrilll Muncey Jr. and his wife, Maureen, of Rhode Island, Ricky Muncey and his wife, Dorothy, of Lincoln and Arthur Muncey and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Sidney; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Mickey Jr., Ben, Kelly, Daniel, AJ, Ashley, Mandy and Joey; four great-grandchildren, whom she loved; two brothers, Edmond Goodie Jr. and his wife, Renee, of Florida and Arthur Goodie and Zena of Brewer; two sisters, Patricia Leighton and her husband, James, of Bangor and Edith Brooks and her husband, David, of Otis; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Edmond Muncey in 1991; and a grandson, Eugene Muncey in 1981. Family and friends may visit 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer, where a service honoring Kathryn’s life will be held 8 p.m. at the conclusion of the visitation. The Rev. Roland Nadeau, chaplain of St. Joseph Hospital will preside and burial will be in Baileyville at a later date.
