GLENBURN – Kathy Kay (Jenkins) Hodgkins, was born June 5, 1957, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Bernita (Craven) Jenkins, and died unexpectedly Aug. 12, 2004, in Maine. She grew up in East Dubuque, Ill., and graduated Valedictorian from East Dubuque High School in 1975. Kathy graduated Cum Laude from the University of Dubuque in 1979, with degrees in Aviation and Business Administration. Kathy married Timothy Hodgkins on Sept. 4, 1983, in Brewer, Maine. At that time, Kathy was working in the area as a flight instructor, she then went on to work for Bar Harbor Airlines, Continental Express and finally Continental Airlines. Kathy loved flying to Europe. In 1988, she and her husband founded their own aviation business. Kathy’s focus in life was always on her love for her husband, family and friends. She always made time to pursue her passions of painting, gardening, figure skating and sailing. Kathy loved animals, she especially enjoyed spoiling her dog’s, Mousse and Dixmont. Kathy will be remembered as a true artist in life as well as on canvas. “A Painter Passing Through”. Kathy is survived by her beloved husband of 21 years, Tim, of Glenburn; her parents, Charles and Benita Jenkins of Cassville, Wis.; her sister, Shirley Peter and her husband, Mark, and their children, Kim, Kevin and Keith of Ore., Wis.; her brother, Allen Jenkins and his wife, Barb and their children, Leanna and Connor of Wilton, Iowa; three aunts, three uncles, several cousins; her dogs, Mousse and Dixmont, and many friends. Funeral services and interment will be held in Platteville, Wis. A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held 11-4, Sept. 4, 2004, at Kathy and Tim’s home, at 35 Luckey Landing Road, Glenburn. In keeping with Kathy’s love of animals, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Old Town Animal Orphanage, P.O. Box 565, Orono, ME 04473, or to the Bangor Humane Society, 693, Mt.
