LUBEC – Russell E. Joy, 72, passed away Aug. 16, 2004, at a health care facility in Lubec. He was born Aug. 19, 1931, the son of the late Hermon D. and Casilda (Milliken) Joy. Russell will be remembered for his happy-go-lucky personality and being a friend to all he met. He is survived by his brother, Dwight Joy and wife, Tammy of Woodbine, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Beverly Joy Smitherman of Machias and Lottie Joy of Victorville, Calif.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Walter Joy and Clarence Joy. Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 6 Cooper St., Machias. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 2004, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery, Jonesport.
