CASTLE HILL – Keith Lorne Melvin, 40, died unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, while working construction in the Lincoln area. He was born Oct. 6, 1965, at Presque Isle, the son of Lorne H. and Frances I. (MacDonald) Melvin. He graduated from Presque Isle High School, Class of 1984, and then joined the military, serving in the U.S. Marines for 13 years. The last six years he has worked for Langille Construction of Presque Isle. Keith enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling, snowmobiling and was an avid card player. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Keith is survived by his father, Lorne H. Melvin and stepmother, Brenda, of Presque Isle; his mother, Fran Carney and stepfather, Rodney, of Ashland; a brother, Kenneth Melvin of Presque Isle; a sister, Cheryl Martin and her husband, Marc and their children Joshua and Sarah, of Presque Isle; three stepsisters and their husbands, Theresa and Jeff Argraves, Wendy and Wade Hopkins and Cindy Snead, all of Danville, Va.; two stepbrothers, Justin Carney and his wife, Alisa, of Ashland, Torrey Carney of Palm Bay, Fla.; and a stepsister, Buffy Carney of Fredericton, N.B. Canada. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday Dec. 16, at the funeral home. Spring interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. Those who wish may donate in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.
