MERRIMACK, N.H. – Kenneth C. Wilson passed away April 16, 2008. He was born May 22, 1923, in Gardiner, and lived most of his life in Bangor. He attended Bangor schools and graduated from Bangor High in 1941. In October 1942 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving until March 1946. In 1947 he married Marion Lyons of Weymouth, Mass. They made their home in Bangor until 2004, moving to Merrimack, N.H., in August of that year. During his working years, Ken worked for Darlings, and Bean and Conquest until 1958, when he received an appointment as a letter carrier to the Bangor Post Office. He worked as a letter carrier until 1970, when he was appointed to a supervisory position. In 1977 he was appointed to the position of superintendent of delivery and collection. Ken retired from the post office March 1, 1984. He spent his retirement years traveling with his wife, seeing much of the U.S. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Marion; and a daughter, Ann Karcich, both of Merrimack, N.H.; a sister, Shirley Whitney of Kenduskeag; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Kenneth J. Karcich, formerly of Merrimack, N.H. A graveside service will be held at a future date at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. There will be no visiting hours.
