OLD TOWN – Kenneth H. Sherwood, 76, wife of the late Jean (Gothrow) Sherwood, died Feb. 20, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Dec. 20, 1928, in Howland, a son of Frederick W. and Myrtle E. (Batchelder) Sherwood. Ken and his wife, Jean, owned and operated a farm in LaGrange for several years and was employed at the University of Maine for more than 25 years. Ken was a member of the Old Town Riverside Grange and in his younger years enjoyed hunting. He enjoyed spending time with his loving and devoted wife, gardening and carpentry. He is survived by a brother, Harold Sherwood of Howland; two nieces, Rhonda Hamel and her husband, Terrence, of Bangor, and Christine Ross and her husband, Glenn, of Exeter. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean, in 1991, a brother, Maurice Sherwood; and a sister-in-law, Martha Sherwood; and his special dog, “JB”. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday, with Pastor Glenn Nichols, officiating.
