BANGOR – LaVerne R. Cameron, 81, died Feb. 19, 2005, at a local hospital. She was born Jan. 12, 1924, in Orono, the daughter of William and Rose (Martin) Gerrish. She attended schools in Orono and tended bar for many years in the Bangor area. She is survived by her daughters, Thelma Tolliver and her husband, Tom, of Camden, Sandra Robinson of Bangor; two grandsons, Bill Robinson and his wife, Amy, of Topsham, Scott Conway of California; and four great-grandchildren, one sister, Margaret Goodin of California; and a brother, Walter Gerrish and his wife, Rita, of Connecticut, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Wayne George; three brothers and two sisters. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor a prayer service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Gifts in her memory may be sent to a charity of one’s choice.
