CHERRYFIELD – Kenneth L. “Gampa” Perry, 56, died unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, at his home in Cherryfield. He was born Dec. 17, 1948, in Gouldsboro, the son of Warren and Evelyn (Foss) Perry. Kenny was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 8 in Cherryfield and the Cherryfield ATV Club. At the time of his death, Kenny was road commissioner for the town of Cherryfield, a position he has held for more than 20 years. He loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. Kenny worked as a crew leader for Wyman’s for 33 years, and most recently owned a construction business, Perry’s Construction, with his son. He also held a Blueberry Lease with Wyman’s for 33 years. Kenny will be remembered by many for his generosity and kind heart. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Marilyn (Tucker) Perry; a son, Randy Perry and his wife, Kathy; two special grandsons, “Jordy” and “Chaddy” Perry, whom Kenny thought the world of, all of Cherryfield; two sisters, Eunice Perry and Roxanne McKenna and her husband, Kevin, all of Steuben; his mother-in-law, Blanche Tucker of Cherryfield; a sister-in-law, Jane Perry, of Steuben; two brothers-in-law, Nathan Tucker and his wife, Rita, of Milbridge and Robin Tucker of Jonesport; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. He will also be missed by his canine friend, Champ. In addition to his parents, Kenny was predeceased by a son, Warren Michael Perry; and a brother, Warren Perry Jr. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Milbridge. Memorial services, with military honors, will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at the Cherryfield American Legion Post No. 8, Main Street, Cherryfield, with the Rev. Ambrose Rolfe officiating.
