BRIDGEWATER – Kenneth R. Tidd, 87, died Saturday morning, Dec. 29, 2007, at a Houl-ton health care facility. He was born Aug. 6, 1920, in Bridgewater, the son of Andrew S. “Bert” and Margaret (Howard) Tidd. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He worked for many years in refrigeration at Potato Service, Inc. and McCain Foods. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, loved sports and played sports when he was in high school. He is survived by two sons, Kenneth R. Tidd Jr. of Plant City, Fla., and Andrew W. Tidd of Allston, Mass.; three daughters, Jean Smith of Blaine, Margaret Wiken of Hampden and Kathy Kinney and her husband, Kurt, of Blackwood, N.J.; a sister, Gladys Stitham of Windsor Locks, Conn.; four grandchildren, James and Adam Smith, Joshua and Amanda Kinney; two great- grandchildren, Zoe and Karly Smith; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Vella G. (Welch) Tidd; two brothers, Augustus and Frank Bradstreet; and a sister, Velma Bradstreet. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at United Baptist Church of Mars Hill with the Rev. Kurt H. Kinney officiating. Relatives and friends may call noon until the time of service at the church. Spring interment will be at Boundary Line Cemetery, Bridgewater.
