OLD TOWN – Kim A. Massey, 49, died June 15, 2004, after a short but courageous battle with cancer at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends. Kim was born June 4, 1955, in Leadville, Colo., a son of Conway and Ruth (Howard) Massey. He started out in life as a hard rock miner in San Manuel, Ariz. He then worked as an alarm technician for both Hall Security and Seacoast Security for many years. Kim enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, and painting. He will be dearly missed by his soul-mate, love of his life, and wife of 30 years, Michele; four children, Jacob, Heather, Crystal, and Amber; two grandchildren, Sarah and Maverick, who brought immeasurable joy and laughter to his life; two brothers, Tom Massey and Doug Massey; two sisters Xenedee Bradley and Glenna Spurgeon; mother-in-law, Lorraine Tidwell; brother-in-law, Tim Tidwell and his wife, Paula; four sisters-in-law, Cherie Grant and her husband, Brian, Paulette Cunningham and her husband, Dana, Renee Carter and her husband, Leland and Dixie Grant and her husband, Denis; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and a special niece, DeDe Spurgeon. Kim was predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Conway Jr., Mitch, and Jay. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Parish with the Rev. Normand Richard, celebrant. Burial will follow at Lawndale Cemetery. Immediately following the service all are invited to return to the Holy Family Parish Center for a light luncheon and continued fellowship.
