CARIBOU – Kirk J. Hemphill, 41, died Dec. 13, 2003, at Caribou, following a long illness. He was born at Caribou, Dec. 22, 1961, the son of Olin and Joan (Doucette) Hemphill. He was a graduate of the Caribou High School, Class of 1981 and was the frozen food manager at Sleeper’s Grocery Store for many years. Kirk was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and he married Lori (Loggans) Hemphill on Aug. 13, 1988. Surviving in addition to his wife, Lori, of Caribou; are one son, Josey Hemphill of Caribou; three daughters, Cara Hemphill Hedman of Bucksport, Cassiopeia Hemphill and Elizabeth Hemphill, both of Caribou; one sister, Lori Hemphill of Bangor; two grandchildren, Fiona and Caitlin Hedman; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Kirk’s mother Joan, died Dec. 14, 2003. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, from the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor officiating. Spring interment will be in the New Holy Rosary Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in Kirk’s memory my do so through a memorial fund to benefit his children.
